After Dr. Mulekar's
initial training in the use of non-cultured autologous
melanocyte-keratinocyte
transfer (MKT) in Sweden, he went on to refine and develop
the highly successful vitiligo treatment.
His research has been published in reputable peer reviewed
medical journals and he is recognised as an international
expert in using MKT for the treatment of leucoderma.
Dr Mulekar has now successfully treated over 2000 patients
and continues to be actively involved in research. A collaboration
with the world renowned Henry Ford Institute in Detroit,
Michigan has recently begun. He is currently based at the
National Centre for Vitiligo and Psoriasis in Riyadh, Saudi
Arabia, travelling to the UK to treat patients with Dr Joshua
Berkowitz, Medical Director at the Wimpole
Aesthetic Centre in London.
"Patients come to me after decades of hearing from
medical institutions that nothing can be done to treat
their vitiligo complaints," says Dr Mulekar. "Many
have spent time and money on a wide range of treatments
that have not been effective. I find it so gratifying
to see the positive change in people's lives after pigmentation
is restored using the simple process of MKT vitiligo
treatment."
