1) What Vitiligo
treatments are available at the Wimpole Aesthetic
Centre?
We offer Melanocyte Keratinocyte Transfer treatment
for vitiligo. This treatment is performed by our
specialist, Dr Sanjeev Mulekar and is suited to
stable vitiligo only.
2) How do I know if my
vitiligo is stable and able to be treated?
Vitiligo is only considered stable if the affected
area has remained unchanged for at least on year.
3) How long after the
treatment does it take to see results?
Within 2 - 4 months of the treatment, patients will
begin to see repigmentation of treated areas. Full
benefits are typically seen after approximately
6 months.
4) Is the treatment very
painful?
Our vitiligo treatment is not considered to be a
painful treatment. Some patients may experience
minor discomfort on treated areas for a few days
after the procedure, however this can be dealt with
using mild pain killers if necessary.
5) How many treatments
are required?
Typically, a single treatment is required. However,
for patients with very large patches/areas of vitiligo,
it may be necessary to have more than one treatment.
6) Is it essential to
have a consultation prior to treatment?
Yes. It is crucial for Dr Mulekar to assess your
condition prior to the treatment. A consultation
is also a great opportunity for you to ask further
questions about the procedure and to receive expert
advice from our team of professionals.
7) Where is the Vitiligo
treatment carried out?
All treatments take place in sterile theatres at
our clinic in central London. The treatment is performed
by our specialist, Dr Sanjeev Mulekar, and an asistant.
